Everyone knows that oil and water don’t mix. That’s why most personal care products (even some foods we eat) require an emulsifier to blend ingredients together. Sorbitan Palmitate is an emulsifying agent that poses no toxic threat to the body, according to the Environmental Working Group (EWG). It is a sugar alcohol that can be derived from either plant or fruit sources. Generally, Sorbitan Palmitate can be found in moisturizers, hand and eye creams, as well as brands of eye shadow and brow and eye liners. Sometimes it is used as a form of food sweetener.
